The Surprising Way Saint West Inspired Dad Kanye West’s Bully Album

Kanye West’s family is his biggest inspiration.

Just hours after he announced his upcoming album Bully will be released on his 11-year-old daughter North West’s birthday, the “Carnival” rapper—who shares North, 11, Saint West, 9, Chicago West, 7, and Psalm West, 5, with ex-wife Kim Kardashian—revealed the origins of the album title.  

“My son was playing with some kid,” Kanye told Justin LaBoy of his son Saint on a Feb. 4 episode of The Download, “and then he kicked him.”

“I asked my son, I said, ‘Why did you do that,’” he continued. “And Saint responded with a simple, “’Cause he weak.’”

Indeed, it was at that moment that the 47-year-old realized, “This man is really a bully right here.”

Kanye’s album announcement, marking his first project in over three years, came just two days after he and his wife Biance Censori raised eyebrows on the 2025 Grammys red carpet. While Kanye wore a simple all-black outfit, his wife removed her brown fur trench coat to reveal her nearly-naked body in a sheer mini dress and clear heels.
