Danica McKellar on Eating Placenta After Giving Birth

Danica McKellar didn’t expect this when she was expecting.

The Wonder Years alum looked back at her experience giving birth to her 15-year-old son Draco—whom she welcomed with ex-husband Mike Verta in 2010—including the one detail about the process that has stayed with her to this day.

“My doula said, ‘Do you want to taste the placenta?’” she shared on the March 10 episode of The BobbyCast.  “I’d just given birth. I mean, you’re not even in your right mind.”

But to Danica’s surprise, the organ was far more appetizing than she could have imagined.

“It was like the best filet mignon that I have ever tasted, but more,” she raved. “I was embarrassed about how much I loved it. It was bizarre. I thought, ‘What is this?’”

In fact, after host Bobby Bones jokingly likened the former child star to a “cannibal,” she insisted the experience was completely natural.
