Wavves have announced a new album; the Southern California rock band will release Spun on June 6 via their own Ghost Ramp label. Today, they’ve shared the Travis Barker-produced single “Goner,” which arrives with a music video directed by Brandon Dermer. Dermer filmed the video at Wavves’ recent wildfires charity show at Los Angeles venue Zebulon. The band has also announced a North American tour. Check out those dates below, and watch the visual for “Goner.”
Spun is the follow-up to Wavves’ 2021 LP Hideaway. The new album reunites frontman Nathan Williams with longtime bandmates Stephen Pope, Ross Traver, and Alex Gates. They released the single “So Long” earlier this year.
Speaking about working with Travis Barker, Williams said in press materials: “I had this song I had been sitting on, always revisited it and tried to record it a bunch of times but it was never just right. Eventually it was giving me PTSD. I was talking to Travis about doing some songs together and when I opened up the vault to him, this one jumped out so we laid it down and finally we got it right.”
