The White House is using Valentine’s Day to send a BOLD message about immigration. Early Friday, the United States’ national headquarters took to Instagram with a lil’ love note for its 7.9 million followers and Americans overall.

The picture post featured a pink background with tiny hearts and floating heads of President Donald Trump and Tom Homan, the acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Above the officials’ heads, the White House remixed a classic Valentine’s Day poem.
“Roses are red, violets are blue. Come here illegally, and we’ll deport you,” the poem read. Meanwhile, the caption wished Americans “Happy Valentine’s Day.”
Within two hours of being live, the post collected nearly 63,000 likes and more than 8,700 comments. Among some Trump supporters lovin’ the message, other folks seemed gagged that the message was even REAL. But, yup, it’s there, and The White House even reposted it on its Instagram Stories.
@vonyettaisnow commented, “This is the most tackiest… like. I gotta chuckle because there is no way… you know what? Nevermind.”
“How Fkn childish is that . Only people that don’t go thru nothing would say something foolish,” @mykey_stone said.
“That’s cold…ICE cold,” @zeon45 commented.
“White House official account is going to be a parody account for the next 4 years,” @hay_hay_kay read.
“oh yall actually posted this…,” @kaaylaspov said.
@vinsonrusselljr added, “how about create a pathway to citizenship for our most vulnerable—for all.”
@aundreayesworld said, “We can’t have anything in the USA. Not even Valentine’s Day.”
White House Been On Petty Time All Week!
Meanwhile, over in The Shade Room’s Instagram comment section, over 6,000 roommates are gagged! It’s not the first time this week, though, that the White House has been in controversial waters. Most recently, they faced backlash after banning Associated Press reporters from certain Oval Office activities, such as a swearing-in. Their reasoning? AP has refused to abide by President Trump’s executive order that seeks to rename the Gulf of Mexico, a 400+ years name–to the Gulf of America.
