In the first-person game, you’ll begin by falling a sleep with the TV on at 3 a.m., remembering a commercial for Dr. Pierce’s Somnasculpt dream therapy program. The next thing you know, you open your eyes in a dream, the first stages of the experiment where perception is reality.
With that start, be prepared for some weirdness. You’ll walk around while the world slowly unravels and subverts expectations.
Dr. Pierce tries to help you home and out of the waking dream. But his artificial assistant is having trouble understanding your situation and has other plans for you.
All of the puzzles are based on forced perspective and optical illusions. So you’ll definitely test your perception to advance throughout the game.
Superliminal is designed for the iPhone and all iPad models. It’s a free download on the App Store now. You can play the beginning of the game for free. To unlock the entire game, you’ll need to make a $4.99 in-app purchase.
