A new report coming from ETNews’ supply chain sources says that Apple is planning to introduce advanced LTPO+ OLED panels with the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max models.

In addition to the supposedly more energy-efficient nature of LTPO+ displays, they will also allow Apple to put the IR scanner, used for Face ID, behind the display. Moreover, some people familiar with the matter suspect that Apple will also move the selfie camera behind the screen without compromising quality.
Interestingly, this would push the Chinese panel maker BOE out of Apple’s supply chain for the Pro models as only LG and Samsung can produce LTPO+ OLED screens. BOE might still produce panels for the non-Pro models, though.
The report also suggests that Apple will incorporate LTPO+ panels in its redesigned M6 MacBook Pro.
