Instagram has expanded access to its DM translation and scheduling tools, with more businesses now able to access these options, providing additional engagement opportunities.
Though, to be clear, these are not new. Instagram has been developing both for some time, and many users have had access to them for a few months. But Instagram is now directly promoting them as business engagement options, which could provide more considerations for your professional outreach.
First off, on DM translations, which IG initially began testing earlier this year. Now, more businesses can access this option, which could enable you to expand your business into new regions.

As per Instagram:
“Want to take your business global? Now you can translate your DMs into 99 different languages.”
To translate a message, you can hold down on the specific DM, then select “Translate.” The translated text will then be displayed below the original message in-stream.
You can also select a language preference, so that your DMs are automatically translated into your native language.

Which could improve cross-border communications, and as noted, that could open up more opportunities for your business.
Instagram’s also giving more business users access to scheduled DMs.

So now, you can ensure your messages are sent at the optimal time to connect with people in their local time zone.
To schedule a DM, you first type your message, then hold down on the “Send” button. You’ll then be able to select the date and time that you want your message to be sent.
The impact of this is relative, as most people will want immediate response, at all times. But there may be use cases where delaying that DM send makes sense, and can help to improve your connection with your audience.
Instagram began testing scheduled DMs back in December, and has been gradually rolling them out to more users and regions ever since. So again, this may not be new to you, but Instagram is now promoting them as a new opportunity for business users.
Some handy updates, or reminders of these functions, which could be useful in your IG marketing approach.
