“Trying to overcome this autoimmune disorder has been one of the hardest experiences of my life, but I remain determined to one day get back onto the stage and to live as normal of a life as possible,” Céline wrote in a March Instagram post. “I am deeply grateful for the love and support from my kids, family, team and all of you!”
And four months later, for her first performance in four years, the “Power of Love” singer made the most beautiful comeback, singing Édith Piaf‘s “Hymne A L’Amour” at the Eiffel Tower during the 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony.
“I’m honored to have performed tonight, for the Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony, and so full of joy to be back in one of my very favorite cities,” she wrote in her a July Instagram post following her performance. “Most of all, I’m so happy to be celebrating these amazing athletes, with all their stories of sacrifice and determination, pain and perseverance.”
