Apple updated its smartwatch lineup with the introduction of Apple Watch Series 11, Watch SE 3 and Watch Ultra 3. The trio gets 5G cellular connectivity, which is a first for Apple Watch models. The Series 11 and Watch Ultra 3 also bring new health-tracking features like Hypertension awareness.
Watch Series 11 is the thinnest smartwatch from Apple, and it’s even more durable than before. Series 11 brings Ion-X glass with a ceramic coating that’s claimed to be 2x tougher than what Series 10 had.
It’s available in the same 42mm and 46mm sizes like before in both Aluminum and Titanium casings.
Jumping to health tracking, Apple is bringing Hypertension awareness, which will issue a warning if it detects anomalies in your blood pressure. The feature is still pending FDA clearance, which Apple says is coming soon. It will be available across 150 countries.
The other new feature is Sleep score, which will give you a performance-based score out of 100 on your nightly rest. It factors total sleep duration, bedtime consistency, how often a person wakes up, and how much time is spent in each sleep stage.
Apple is also offering 24/7 heart-rate and blood oxygen saturation readings. That’s enabled by the improved battery life – Apple claims the Watch Series 11 will offer up to 24 hours of battery life so you can wear it while sleeping.
The Aluminum Series 11 models come in Jet black, Silver, Rose Gold, and Space Gray colors. Apple is also offering Titanium versions, which come in Natural Titanium, Gold and Slate colors.
Series 11 starts at $399 for the 42mm aluminum model and $429 for the 46mm version. The cellular models are $100 more. Series 11 is available for pre-order in the US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, India, Japan, the UAE, and the UK. Shipments start on September 19.
Apple Watch SE 3 brings several key updates like an always-On display (AOD), last year’s Apple S10 chip and optional 5G cellular connectivity. It comes in 40mm and 44mm sizes, and thanks to the chip upgrade, it now supports double-tap and wrist flick gestures.
Watch SE 3 also gains an always-on display (AOD) and fast charging, which is 2x faster than its predecessor. Apple claims you can get 8 hours of usage from a 15-minute charge. On the health tracking side, Watch SE 3 gets the new Sleep score feature alongside 24/7 heart rate and blood oxygen saturation readings.
Watch SE 3 comes in Starlight and Midnight colors. Pricing starts at $249 in the US with pre-orders now open, while deliveries are scheduled for September 19.
Watch Ultra 3 gets updated with an LTPO 3.0 OLED, which is brighter and has thinner bezels than previous models. It brings the optional 5G cellular connectivity and also gets updated satellite connectivity for Emergency SOS via Satellite, send messages, and share location with Find My.
Apple is bringing its new Hypertension notification alongside the new sleep score feature. The other big addition is the updated battery endurance, which is now rated at 42 hours, which is the most for an Apple Watch to date.
Apple Watch Ultra 3 comes in Black and Natural Titanium colors. Pricing starts at $799 with deliveries scheduled for September 19.
