A beloved screen star’s life has been tragically cut short.
Alon Aboutboul, whose onscreen credits include The Dark Knight Rises and London Has Fallen, has died, his rep confirmed to Metro. He was 60.
The Israeli-born actor was found dead at HaBonim Beach in Tel Aviv July 29 after going swimming, the outlet reported citing local publication N12. A cause of death has not been confirmed.
E! News has reached out to Aboutboul’s rep as well as local authorities for comment but has not heard back.
Prior to his passing, Aboutboul—who was dad to four children with wife Shir Bilia—shared what would be his final Instagram Stories post on July 28, reposting a photo of an evening ocean view along with the caption (translated from Hebrew), “An especially beautiful sunrise.”
Aboutboul crossed over into American cinema early in his career, appearing in films like Every Time We Say Goodbye in 1986 and Rambo III two years later. He went on to score roles in big screen projects including Munich and Body of Lies before portraying Russian nuclear physicist Dr. Leonid Pavel in the final film of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy in 2012.
