Last week, we heard that the Xiaomi 16 Pro will have a slightly larger 6.8” display (possibly as big as 6.85”), which is up from 6.73” on the Xiaomi 15 Pro. Leakster Smart Pikachu has some good news for those that didn’t love the quad-curved display of the 2024 model – Xiaomi is going with a flat panel this time.
Curved sides “hide” the real thickness of bezels, so Xiaomi will reportedly slim down the bezels of the flat display to compensate and make the 15 Pro and 16 Pro look comparable.
The new display will have improved eye protection technology that will work at high brightness levels (how exactly is another question).
Previously, we heard that the Xiaomi 16 Pro and 16 Ultra will share the same 6.85” LTPO OLED display with “2K+” resolution. They will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 and will have cameras that beat the iPhone, according to leaksters, anyway.

Speaking of cameras, the Xiaomi 16 and 16 Pro will also get upgraded selfie cameras – a new ultra-wide lens with autofocus will sit in front of a 50MP sensor with 4K @ 60fps video recording capabilities. The 15-series featured 32MP selfie cameras with ultra-wide lenses, which lacked autofocus.
Rumor has it that Xiaomi will add an extra member of its flagship line this year – the 6.8” Xiaomi 16 Pro will be joined by a smaller 6.3” Xiaomi 16 Pro mini (name to be confirmed). The small Pro is expected to use the same Elite 2 chip as the bigger model and will allegedly feature a 50MP 1/1.28” sensor in the main. It will be powered by a 6,300mAh battery, which is bigger than the Xiaomi 15 Pro battery (6,100mAh). The vanilla model will stick around and will have an even bigger battery.
