WhatsApp is adding new features including creating new stickers from selfies, sharing sticker packs, and adding new camera effects. Stickers and camera effects are good engagement ploys to keep users interacting with their contacts.
The chat app added the ability to create custom stickers from photos last year. Now, the company is adding an option to turn selfies into stickers directly. With the new update, you will see a camera option when you tap on the “Create stickers” button within the stickers menu. Then, you can take a selfie, and the app will convert that image into a sticker and save it to your sticker tray.

Last year, Meta also launched the ability to create AI stickers through Meta AI in the U.S.
WhatsApp is also adding a way to directly share links of sticker packs, so you can share your favorites with your friends.
What’s more, the Meta-owned app is adding 30 backgrounds, filters, and effects for photos and videos. The app launched filters for video calls last year, and now it is adding it to WhatsApp’s camera. A lot of these effects resemble Snapchat Lenses or Instagram filters.
WhatsApp is also adding a new way to react to a message by double-tapping it and bringing up most-used reactions.
