Yesterday, the Samsung Galaxy M55s passed BIS certification. Today it ran Geekbench. It’s the same model number as in the certification, SM-M558B, whereas the original M55 is SM-M556.
Based on the score sheet, the Galaxy M55s will use the same Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset as the original M55. The test unit also had 8GB of RAM, which is the base capacity for the M55. So, what’s new?

In the past, we’ve seen upgrades to the camera and battery department from s-phones. For example, here’s what changed with the Galaxy M31s and the Galaxy M30s relative to the vanilla models. For reference, the current M55 has a 50MP main (1/1.56”, OIS) and an 8MP ultra wide on the rear, plus a rare 50MP selfie camera. As for the battery, it’s a 5,000mAh cell with 45W charging.
Unfortunately, none of the certifications that were issued for the M55s reveal the battery capacity, but we’ll keep our ears to the ground. The launch can’t be far now.
