Following the launch of the Redmi A3 in February, Xiaomi has been working on the A3x to bring to India and international markets, and it has now been quietly unveiled through a listing on the Xiaomi global website.
The Redmi A3x comes with the Unisoc T603 SoC at the helm, which is paired with either 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage or 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
It has a 6.71-inch 720×1650 LCD screen with 500-nit peak brightness and 90 Hz refresh rate, an 8 MP rear camera, a 5 MP front camera, and a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 10W wired charging. The power adapter is apparently sold separately in “certain regions”, so keep that in mind.
The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor embedded into the power button, dual SIM functionality, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and it runs Android 14 with a promise of two major Android updates and three years of security patches. It measures 168.4 x 76.3 x 8.3 mm and will be offered in Midnight Black, Moonlight White, and Aurora Green.
Compared to the A3, the only notable change is the chipset used, along with the fact that the A3x maxes out at 4GB of RAM instead of 6GB. These differences should make the A3x marginally cheaper than the A3.
