If media reports are to be believed, actor Michael Keaton did not want to film a sequel to a classic and so he was reluctant to get involved in the making of ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice‘. It is a sequel to the 1988 horror comedy that starred Keaton in the titled role. He also said that director Tim Burton was equally cautious, but once they began the filming, they found it interesting and completed the project.

Tim Burton was praised for making the iconic comedy horror “Beetlejuice” in 1988 when he was only 29 years old. It won an Oscar award. Burton also directed “Batman” and “Edward Scissorhands” afterward.
Talking to the ‘People’ magazine, the actor opened up about the upcoming film. The actor said that Tim Burton and he decided from the beginning, that if they ever make it again, he was not interested at all in doing something where too much technology was involved. He did not want to heavily rely on CGI.

Some of the old cast members including Winona Ryder, Michael Keaton, and Jenna Ortega will return in the sequel. Besides,
Monica Bellucci, Willem Dafoe, Catherine O’Hara, Justin Theroux, Arthur Conti, and Burn Gorman will also appear in the horror movie.

Release Date

Warner Bros. will most likely release ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ on September 6, 2024.

Earlier, Catherine O’Hara also teased this film. She told ‘People’ magazine that she had a little two-person moment with Michael as ‘Beetlejuice’. She also said that she had been in the first movie in group scenes with Michael, but in the sequel, she had an actual moment where just the two of them were in the scene. She further added that it was so crazy and thrilling just to be face-to-face with Beetlejuice.”
