Georgia governor Brian Kemp announced his support for a Georgia bill removing carrying permits for handguns in public.

Kemp joined lawmakers and NRA members outside a gun store in Atlanta, pledging his support of 2nd amendment rights.

Kemp’s opponent in the upcoming gubernatorial election, David Perdue, criticized the governor’s 2nd amendment record, prompting a response from the governor.

The proposed law mirrors legislation adopted in Tennessee. Currently, 20 states have constitutional carry laws, removing handgun permits.

However, some advocates are concerned about the proposed law, such “Moms Demand Action” representative Courtney Spriggs.
