The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets lost 49-21 to 14th-ranked UCF. Yellow Jackets freshman quarterback Jeff Simms continued to impress with 244 yards passing and a touchdown pass as well as 82 yards rushing with a touchdown. However, he did throw 2 interceptions. Fellow Georgia Tech freshman running back Jahmyr Gibbs rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown, and caught 4 passes for 60 yards and a touchdown on the day. UCF quarterback Dillon Gabriel threw for 417 yards and 4 touchdowns to lead the Knights.
