The North Carolina Tar Heels improved to 1-1 on the season with the 59-17 win over Georgia State. Sam Howell had the offense firing on all cylinders. Howell threw for 352 yards and 3 touchdown passes, and he ran for 104 yards and a touchdown. Antoine Green was the tar heels leading receiver catching three passes for 117 yards and a touchdown. Josh Downs caught eight passes for 73 yards and a touchdown.
